Earlier today, we received feedback from the committee (composed of Dr. Viachaslau Barodka, Dr. Steven Keller, Dr. Steven Tropello, Linda Liu, and Muyinatu Bell) regarding our presented solution using Fick's principle for cardiac output. The committee's main recommendation was to refocus on reducing invasiveness as opposed to attaining absolute accuracy.
An idea proposed by the committee was to monitor ScvO2 (central venous oxygen saturation) via the carotid or the jugular vein in combination with a pulse oximeter.

The goal behind this setup would be to relate stroke volume to pulse pressure, which is obtained via a force sensor. A pulse oximeter depends on the pulse; looking at the differential measure would enable all the variables of the skin (like thickness) to be ignored. Challenges that were brought up included the ability of the pulse oximeter to obtain mixed venous oxygen saturation (SvO2).
